TAKING THE
MIC VII: Festival Finale
Friday 31st
August 2007
- JoJo Sutherland: Compere:
Deliciously cruel
The best antidote to mewling rugrats (The
Herald)
- Colin Asquith: armed only with his voice and an acoustic guitar,
Colin pushes well known songs in directions they were probably never meant to go.......
- Andrew C Ferguson: a rare
solo spot from a Writers' Bloc stalwart.
- Norman Lamont: Not to be confused with the
former Chancellor of the exchequer, the REAL Norman Lamont, hailing originally from Ayr,
has been living in Edinburgh since 1990. His songs have won acclaim at song competitions
locally and nationwide. He has played support to John Renbourne, Michael Chapman, John
Cooper Clarke, the Coal Porters and Ballboy.
- Indigo Rose: Soulful,
jazz-tinged music combined with an angelic voice
one of the top female performers
in Edinburgh (OOTB 2007 reviewer)
- Lindsay Sugden: Lindsay is
a girl of the countryside displaced to the city. She wrote a great deal of her music
whilst camping out in a remote corner of Iceland for weeks on end collecting samples of
mud... it seems that the subconscious influence of the Icelandic elves, and the
other wild mountainous places she visits emerge through her mystical, ethereal music.
- Tommy: Local singer/songwriter with
Fringe experience including the Tommy Sheridan Chat Show and entered the Scottish Comedian
of the Year contest 2007 - Scotland's answer to Half Man Half
Biscuit. 'Cheeky' (The Sun), 'Enthralling' (The Sunday Herald).
