What did I do when my computer
crashed, making me lose £10,000 and setting of a series of events, including a $29,000
hospital bill and having to work illegally in a 7-Eleven in the USA? Simple really...I
played a game of, "Einstein & Gandhi". Wanna Play? Come along and I'll teach
you!J Ps. This show is based on true events, so let's have fun laughing!
"I cannot believe he didn't cast me!"
Mother Teresa
"The energy in this show is nuclear
.you
must watch it!" Einstein
"Mother Teresa keeps complaining but I just
turn the other cheek!" Gandhi
Darshan's debut was while he was in a small pub,
whilst at university at St Andrews, his second gig was to three Japanese exchange
students, his third gig was supporting Natalie Haynes in front of 200 people, his sixth
gig was performing on the same bill as Dylan Moran at the Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh!
It was a sign of things to come, and since graduating and returning to London, he has
focused himself to become one of the London comedy scene's favourite sons. This last year,
he has performed all over the country and done really well in the competitions he has
entered. Most notably, he was a semi-finalist in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year
2007.
Born in Kenya, brought up in London, studied in Scotland,
moved to LA for a year, returned to London, and now Darshan comes full circle, bringing
comedy back to where he began his love of performing! A sharp, astute performer; Darshan
uses confident and sunny delivery to riff off anything
.drawing on his diverse
background; He has worked in the financial world, worked with at-risk youth, worked
illegally in the USA, worked as a club promoter, worked in advertising, and sometimes all
in the same day! His ability to tie various threads together, confidently engage and
banter with the audience while keeping track of all the spinning plates he sets in motion
has made him an audience champion.
"I saw Darshan recently and booked him straight away to play at my club. He is a
fearless, charismatic performer with some intelligent yet silly material. That's a winning
combination worth booking. He also has a nice tan, which he certainly hasn't got from
sitting at a desk. he's a grafter!" Kai Barron, Beach Comedy Club
"He MC'd me opening night and really warmed
the crowd. His delivery is confident and sunny and his off the top of his head audience
banter was inspired. Those competitions he keeps winning and almost winning clearly spot
his innate funnymanness." Bobby Carroll, Hammersmirking Comedy Club
"In 1 word one could describe Darshan's
comedy style as REAL! He's funny as FUCK and I mean that literally. While sitting in his
audience one doesn't know if you should feel or piss one's pants, in the end you end
up doing both Get to see him, he ROCKS THE HOUSE!" Tamika Cambell, comedienne. |
