Situated on Hanover Street, this venue is right in the heart of the New Town - literally just around the corner from George Street and the Assembly rooms, and a stones throw from The Stand and Princes street.

jh1.jpg (51562 bytes)Decorated in a Gothic style this busy bar has skeletons and related macabre items 'hanging around' the walls. The main bar has differing balcony levels and the toilets can be found hidden behind an imitation bookcase. The main bar serves meals and snacks all day, plus a variety of beer, wines, spirits and horror-themed cocktails

In 2011 we have added a second performance space - The Aerie, which is a brand new cabaret style space, to operate alongside the original performance space, The Crypt.

Over the past years this venue has become one of the rooms that is a favourite of performers, given the amazing atmosphere in the room for performances. The Crypt is not a traditional Fringe room (rectangle with a stage at the end), it has a unique atmospheric gothic feel and had two audience spaces either side of a central bar that remains closed during the shows. The New Aerie space is more traditional, larger, and has the feeling of an Amphitheatre.
