Derek Ryan has been speeding up the Irish comedy ranks since 2005. He is part stand-up, part sketch comedian, part story-teller and logically unhinged. But he?s not messed-up, he?s eclectic, okay? His meandering mind works in pictures, drawn in the air with wily phrases & flailing limbs. Random everyday observations with little regard for the laws of nature or the fact that he can?t actually talk to animals. He?s also got some jokes.?

 

Derek is fast becoming a regular face on the Irish Comedy circuit as a headliner, supporting act or MC performing at all the major comedy clubs. In November 2007 he put on his first solo show; "Mongrel" to a standing room only audience in Tripod. The show was in aid of the DSPCA Cat and Dogs Home cos Derek is part-dog and one-eighth puddy-tat and he wanted to do something for distant relatives without having to actually meet them
