Goldsmiths Drama Society is back for
the second year with an exciting trio of brand new plays.
All written and devised by
members of the company, the plays ensure an eclectic mix of theatre and entertainment!
Set in a dark post-recession Britain,
Black Swans forces the unification of the oppressors and oppressed on one stage. With all
the recognisable social structures dissolving before them, a gaping divide has formed
between the people; those who fight, and those who give in. A total re-establishment of
social hierarchy is explored through the eyes of a family powerless against the
criminals and disgraced politicians ruthlessly taking control. The question is, are the
Swans willing to force themselves to the darkest sides of their personalities?
How much damage will they inflict to ensure they have complete control of a society in
such a vulnerable state?
Incorporating haunting poetic
dialogue with careful choreography, the challenging story line is transformed into intense
and highly stylised theatrical experience. |
