PROMISES TO BE DYNAMITE BUT COULDNT BLOW UP A SEX
DOLL.
As if Scotland hasnt suffered enough with snow and volcanic
eruptions this year, then TNT Comedy Explosion rolls into Edinburgh in August like a big
round snowball of mirth which has grown from its humble beginnings in Kentish Town last
December into two shows throughout the Fringe Festival.
TNT Comedy Explosion was born, or detonated, at Torrianos in Kentish
Town in December and takes place every Thursday despite football, snow and office parties.
One day a cyclist appeared and introduced himself as Dave Lock
up your goldfish Rego from Dyslexia in the Hungry Australian Empire and his heart
bled to see a pubs existence being threatened by property developers so he hatches a
plan. He cycles home.
As a result, TNT was created and it stands for Tuesdays and
Thursdays at Torrianos - not Trinitrotoluene however well that sums up the comedy style.
Then some bright spark decided we should go to Edinburgh and organised two shows a day
throughout the festival with the Laughing Horse. No doubt the horse found it amusing.
BANG! Out of Order by TNT Comedy Explosion is a 55
minute lunchtime show from 1.30pm at the Kasbah, Espionage and then evenings at the Crypt,
Jekyll and Hyde from 8.35pm. Both run from 5th to 25th August. The show name came from the
well-loved punch-line of a joke by Nigel NigeeBaby Rushby, notorious for his
generosity to fellow comics on the London scene and therefore the biggest comedian
you will see this year (a tall fat bald freak).
The team includes Nigel Rushby, Dave Rego, Fred Barber; who brings
our average age down and forces a pigeon down for a free lunch on Trafalgar Square, Jane
brilliantly adequate Dean, Sophie Miss Marple on Acid Sweatman,
resident Scot Lorraine Comedy Loz Robson, Dean with a stare to set all
women on his morning commute off Roberts and with 50 slots filled by regulars at the
London clubs such as the Flight of Alex Hawley, A New Zealander so tall his comedy will
make great in-flight entertainment where ever he goes (except during a volcano). |
