The Argyle is a friendly, local Bar, and one of only two bars in the local area, meaning as well as attracting Fringe-goers there is a large local audience that will attend shows. Food and drink are served throughout the day with a selection of snacks, as well as a good selection of beers, wines and spirits.

The Performance space is in the basement bar, with an entrance from the main bar and also the street. The room benefits from a low ceiling making it an ideal and intimate space, suited to both comedy and small-scale theatre. There are small plasma screens away from the stage that relay images from the stage to the back of the room, allowing for everybody to see clearly what is happening. 

Performance Space: The Crypt

Stage - 7ft x 7ft raised stage, in corner. 6 inches high.

Seating - Capacity is 90, 65 seated, arranged in front and to the side of the stage.

Lighting - 2xFixed Spotlights and one moveable lighting stand to Flood light the stage. Additional Lighting can be supplied by companies and fixed as required to overhead cable tray.

Sound - The room is supplied with an 4 channel mixer (4xXLR or 4xJack, 2xPhono). The room has 2xCD Players, 2xMicrophones and 2xMic stands. Any additional sound equipment can be supplied by performing companies and stored at the venue.

Audio Visual - No equipment is available at the venue. The room can be used for shows with projectors, although some areas may have difficulty viewing directly. The stage can be projected onto TV screens around the room.

Storage - There is a small storage area at the venue for props and equipment, this is shared by all groups.

Bar - A Bar is available in the room which can be arranged to be opened during performances if required, normally this would be closed during performances.
