Edinburgh
is all about taking risks, and Gore and Dickens have the talent to make their show a real
risk worth taking. You wont have heard of them, but youll be boasting you saw
this award-winning pair before anyone else.
Talented
newcomers Sam Gore and Max Dickins share an hour in a stand-up double header not for the
faint-hearted.
Sam Gore
Sam
may have only reached the tender age of 23, but theres nothing soft about this type
of comedy. Fast cementing himself as one of the sharpest and most vicious young acts on
the circuit, hes already snapping at the heels of his more established peers. Come
see for yourself - this boys got bite.
Sam
is a bit of a neophyte to stand up with only 2 years under his belt, but in that time he
has attracted more than a little attention, not least with him cleaning up and winning
almost every new act competition in the country.
Sam
last year at the Edinburgh Fringe festival as the special guest English comic in Best
of Scottish at the Underbelly and in the Laughing Horses Showcase as part of
the Free Festival.

Sam Gores act is so harsh
and abrasive you could probably polish diamonds with it. His persona is that of a
supercilious, arrogant and snide nihilist whose unremitting tide of poisonously disdainful
insults are delivered with an ever-patronising sneer. He uses multiple pile-ups of
venomous adjectives to powerful effect, producing laughs from the sheer ferocity of his
attacks. I can be a bit offensive, he admits, which is about the only sentence
he utters that contains understatement
a class act indeed. Chortle
"Sam
Gore from Leeds was wicked and dry and magnificently funny"- Back Street Heroes
magazine
"A sharp and fast-paced young stand-up
.clever
and acerbic. I was not the only audience member who would have liked to have seen more
from this brave and edgy performer." - The Worksop Guardian
Max Dickins
Despite
less than 18 months experience, Dickins has already become an accomplished and interesting
stand up. Straddling the line between smug and charming, with a knowing nod and enviable
confidence, he blends dark one-liners with offbeat observations. The sheer quality of
Max's jokes win over even the most reluctant of audience members.
