Carl Carzana is a creative genius and he wants everyone to know it. Watch as he opens up his (metaphorical) suitcase and (non-metaphorically) presents his creative ideas, props, characters, contraptions, and songs. Expect mayhem. Expect silly. Expect hermit hogs.

Carl Carzana THE Comedian is a name synonymous with quality throughout the comedy industry. From being the host and creator of the Chortle Award-winning reverse roast battle comedy night 'Boast in Show', to launching and winning the Carl Carzana of the Year Comedy Competition 2024 and 2025, to writing for BBC Radio 4, to being a Musical Comedy Awards semifinalist, to being runner-up at the Bath Comedian of the Year, there's literally nothing this creative genius can't do. Creativity and heart are at the very heart of what Carl Carzana does. Expect originality, creativity and a whole lot of Carl Carzana (plus heart!) as he displays exactly why EVERYONE calls him a CREATIVE GENIUS *****

"Carl Carzana is unstoppable. God help us all." - Luke Rollason

"Carl Carzana literally can't lose." - Chortle

"Chaotic brilliance from Carl Carzana." - British Comedy Guide

“Affable chap, Carl Carzana, who offers Mr Bean bizarre with just a touch of Bruce Forsyth (trust us, it’s pleasing!)”
- Reviews Hub

“There’s almost a party atmosphere in the room. It’s not an easy job [...] and Carzana manages to be thoroughly likeable, beautifully bumbling, and run a somewhat complicated show all at the same time.”

News and Reviews for this Show

August 30, 2026  StandupCom Magazine
Carl Carzana broke onto the comedy scene in Brighton a few years ago - and was remarkable for his staccato style of delivery, getting laughs from few words, frequent pauses and dry observation.

I was fortunate to observe his early efforts at stand-up at the legendary Tight Five comedy club in Hove and, for reasons that are lost in the mists of time, became known as his 'dad' for around six years!

Carl, who is also a commercial artist and former Waterstone's bookseller, has blossomed into a very good comedian - and produced a wonderful hour of comedy.

In a venue not much larger than a broom cupboard, adorned with images of nineties pop stars he hated, Carzana expanded on his life's work of bigging himself up at the expense of more accomplished entertainers! He is well known for starting the Carl Carzana comedy competition, open to all talent, but only winnable by himself!

He opened a large suitcase full of props, unfortunately for me, completely cutting off my view of the stage, turning it into a kind of radio performance! But, no matter, his off-the-wall material soon had the audience splitting their sides. It ranged from his alleged showbiz dad (what about me?) to Bob Dylan, Shakespeare, 'ye do ye', Si Si to CC. Well, you had to be there. My friend, Stewart, enjoyed it just much as I did.

The drawings he produced of his heroes were wonderful, and his crowd play with Martin ('Can I call you, Martin?' as he kept saying) were hilarious. And I loved his glove puppets, Hermit the Hog and Mikey the Moose.

A fabulous show - and it is great to see how far Carl Carzana has come in comedy! Click Here

August 25, 2026  The Scotsman
A comic and illustrator with puckish inventiveness and skittish joy in a range of comic styles, in his cramped venue, Carl Carzana is determinedly alternative. But in his oversized, prematurely ageing him red jacket, there's an awful lot of the old-fashioned variety act in him too.

Stringing together song pastiches, visual puns, sketch caricaturing, flip charts of “nearly phrases”, heavily fictionalised autobiography and even puppetry, his Harry Hill and Vic and Bob influences are evident. Yet he's distinctive enough, his incessant non-sequiturs amusing rather than frustrating.

Put simply, if a maddening reworking of the Only Fools and Horses theme tune to plug one specific household item isn't for you, then perhaps you'll get something out of his intellectual property abusing soft toys.

Appreciating a rather lively crowd on the day I caught him, he gave as good as he got and forged a Stockholm Syndrome-like spirit of togetherness in his more out there endeavours. Some of this show flummoxes, some of it bombs. But it's all offered with generosity of spirit and the stubborn verve of a youngish man who sees little need to compromise. Jay Richardson Click Here
