Clinton Barnes

Clinton Barnes is an Australian stand-up comedian based in Melbourne, currently performing regularly around the city and developing his debut solo hour. Originally from Sydney, he spent nine years in the United States working as a brand strategist for clients including Goldman Sachs, TikTok, and Airbus before concluding that comedy was the more rational career move. His observational stand-up is sharp, gay, and somewhat over-researched. He applies an unreasonable amount of analytical rigour to the things most people have agreed to ignore: bidets, dog ownership, the running gait of gay men, why nobody spoke to him when he was bleeding at the gym. The results are surprisingly coherent. Clinton's debut solo hour, "No, I'm Not Overthinking It," explores the gap between how much we think and how well we actually live. He is making his Edinburgh Fringe debut at the Free Festival, his first international festival, with the same amount of overthinking he brings to everything else. clintonbarnes.com.au | @clintonplus
