CARRIE-JEAN MASON
Caz Mason – Writer & Performer
I’m Caz Mason, a playwright and actor with a passion for telling bold, thought-provoking stories that blend comedy and drama. I’ve been acting since I was five and trained at LAMDA, but writing has always been just as important to me.
After a tragic house fire, I spent three years in a hostel for domestic abuse survivors. While there, I heard countless powerful and heartbreaking stories, and alongside my own experiences, they became the foundation for my work. I use theatre to bring these real-life issues to the stage, weaving in humor and suspense to challenge perspectives and spark conversation.
My plays, D.A.B Hotel and Like Kells Said, explore survival, motherhood, and societal expectations in ways that are both gripping and darkly funny. When I first took a play to the Edinburgh Festival, I only gave myself three months to write and rehearse—this time, I’ve spent three years making sure every detail is right. Now, I’m ready to share these stories with the world.
