2021 Edinburgh Fringe - Latest Information |
Last Update: 12th January 2021 |
|
The
Edinburgh Fringe |
- The
Fringe is planned to go ahead August
6th-30th this year and we are aiming
to take part! As usual our dates will
differ by one day, our shows should be
running from August 5th to 29th.
- It is
currently unknown what covid
restrictions will be in place in August,
and given current information from the
government we are uncertain as to when
we'll know. So at the moment we are
aiming to run our larger venues with
social distancing (1m+ with mitigation)
and working from there if restrictions
are relaxed.
- Edinburgh
Fringe deadlines are much later this
year, there will be a physical programme,
but also shows can register online-only.
Given this, we are now looking at
delaying programming as late as possible
to see where things will be.
- Current Fringe
registration dates are: Registrations
open: March 1st; Discount
Programme registration deadline May
12th; Registrations deadline for
printed programme June 16th;
General programme launch mid-July;
Additional registrations after this
added from July 26th. .

Venues |
- At this time, we
know we should be able to use the larger
rooms at our venues - with smaller rooms
less likely depending on how rigorous
social distancing is.
At the moment
with all of the venues closed,
and staff furloughed and not contactable
in many cases,
it is currently impossible to work out
what might be possible at a lot of venues.
We are in contact with as many venues as
possible, and at the moment it is a
waiting game for any certainty.
We're expecting venues
to be under social distancing and covid
regulations as per 2020,
so are expecting a very limited
capacity, around 50% of capacity on
rooms we can operate.

Shows rolling over from 2020 |
- All shows who
rolled over from 2020, will get first
option for a space in 2021
- As soon as we are
confident in programming a space, we
will be in contact with those shows;
After shows in an operating space are
contacted we'll offer gaps to other
shows in spaces that cannot operate at
the time.
Sorry, but there is no current ETA on
this, but we're looking to start this
process in February/March.

New Applications for 2021
|
- If you'd like
to be considered for a space this year,
please do put an application in now via
this website.
- There's no
commitment, and obviously things may
change with the Fringe at the moment
- but by applying you will be on our
applications and contact list so we can
be in contact with you should we be able
to programme your show in available
space that we have.
- Our performers
contribution will remain the same as the
2020 contribution.
- We will be
dealing with rolled-over shows from 2020
before any new shows, given what is
likely to be limited spaces, and can't
yet say when we'll be in contact with
any new shows - it's likely to be at
least March at this stage.

I hope all of those
details help, and naturally given the covid
situation it's all somewhat changeable at
this stage. |
|
We also hope everyone
keeps safe and well at this time, and for us
to be back at the Fringe as soon as it's
possible, and when it is safe for us to do
so for our audiences, venue staff and
performers. |
